Norman Harold Sefton, 85, of Due West, SC, formerly of Manning, husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Sefton, the love of his life, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Rhode Island to the late Edwin and Mildred Rondina Sefton.
A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Mr. Sefton served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as Director of Telecommunications at Duke University after many dedicated years. Golfing, playing bridge and ‘tinkering’ on various projects brought him much pleasure. Though often not warranted, he lovingly offered advice to his family. Mr. Sefton will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his children, Lynn DeMarco of Seattle, WA, Keith Sefton (Gina) of Brentwood, TN and Karen Cleary (Mark) of Wrens, GA and a sister, Lois Derosier, of Warwick, RI. His six beloved grandchildren are Anthony, Nicole, Adrianna, Sloan, Allison, and Sam.
Burial will be held in Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.
