William Perrin Seigler

William Perrin Seigler, 68, of Abbeville, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare. Born in Abbeville, SC to the late George Henry and Mary Louise Ratchford Seigler, Perrin was a graduate of Christ School in Arden, NC, and attended Mars Hill College. He cherished longstanding friendships with his Abbeville High School Class of 1976 peers and was a devoted Clemson Tigers fan.

Seig or Perrin as he was well known, was indeed a character. He was a self-employed painting contractor who spent many hours on painting projects and always took his work very seriously. Seig had a ‘feeling’ pertaining to most anything and wouldn’t be afraid to share it. A member of the New Grace Church, the Lord allowed him to be with us probably longer than he should have after his terrible fall many years ago. Even with many health complications he never changed who he was and could always steal a room.

Seig was an integral figure in the athletics of the Abbeville High School Panthers and the Abbeville Youth Athletics programs. He was inducted into the Abbeville Youth Athletics Hall of Fame on December 2, 2025. Seig was a member of the AHS Baseball coaching staff for more than 30 years and also devoted many seasons to coaching Dixie Boys and Dixie Majors teams within the AYA program, where he dedicated many hours to coaching and mentoring the young people of the Abbeville community. He was also known as ‘one of the eyes in the sky guys’ who did the video taping for Abbeville Football for many years. Seig will be missed and his impact will be felt for many years to come - another legend has gone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, George E. ‘Ricky’ Seigler, Sr. and George Ramey Fain, Jr.

Seig was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM, Friday, March 20, 2026, at Abbeville First Baptist Church Christian Life Center with Rev. Matt Turner officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Those serving as pallbearers are Scott White, John White, Myron Mullett, Mark Smith, Mike Wilson and Jonathan Myers.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in memory of Seig, be sent to the AHS Booster Club, PO Box 1214, Abbeville, SC 29620. https://www.ahspantherbooster.com/
