William 'Billy' Boggs

William Joe Sanders ‘Billy’ Boggs, 76, of Calhoun Falls, husband of Janice Auten Boggs, died peacefully, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Calhoun Falls to the late Leo Sanders and Hazel Nancy Pierce Boggs.
A 1963 graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, Mr. Boggs attended Anderson College. He proudly served his country in the South Carolina National Guard Co C 151 Sig Bn, Abbeville, SC. Mr. Boggs was employed as an insurance agent with Liberty Life Insurance Company for 25 years and retired, with a tenure of 15 years, from Atlantic Coast Life Insurance Company. He was a member of the Calhoun Falls Jaycees, dedicated member of Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness church and a Christian. Mr. Boggs enjoyed driving the church van for many years. He was a deacon and served as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, worked in the youth department and sang in the choir. Mr. Boggs loved Southern Gospel music and praising his Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Boggs and his wife, Alice Mae Rudder Boggs; an infant sister, Shelby Jean Boggs; and a niece, Donna Boggs Dobbins.
Mr. Boggs is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice, of the home; two sons, Mark Boggs of Calhoun Falls and Lee Boggs (Danna) of Anderson; two daughters, Nancy Ramey (Paul) of Anderson and Mindy Rogers (Charles) of Calhoun Falls; seven grandchildren, Amanda Boggs, Dakota Nickols (Catelynn), Julianna Tucker (Justin), Quinton Brown (Savannah), Ky Rogers, Davis Rogers and Turianna Rogers; four great-grandchildren, Bradly, Calina, Gabriel and Hadley; three special friends, Johnny Myers, Danny Brown and Sammy Scott; and his dearest furbaby, Girlfriend.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Agape Hospice Care, Patrice Johnson Adams and Dr. Keith Scott for their loving care of Mr. Boggs.
The family will receive friends 1:00PM - 2:30PM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, in Calhoun Falls Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services will begin at 3:00PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Bill Yon and Rev. Jim Howard officiating. Burial to follow in Latimer Cemetery.
