Wayman T. Campbell, 85, of Honea Path, beloved husband of the late Wanda Murdock Campbell, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Regency Hospital of Anderson. Born in the Nation Community of Abbeville County, he was the son of the late Pete and Winona Below Campbell.
Mr. Campbell proudly graduated from Calhoun Falls High School in 1959 and dedicated over 34 years of service to Abbeville County before retiring. An active lifelong member of Bells Chapel, his commitment to his church was remarkable. He was thankful of his over 40 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School, of which he actively participated in the Adult Fellowship Class. He will also be remembered for his many years serving as the Sunday School Superintendent.
In addition to his community service, Mr. Campbell was a longstanding member of the Dew Drop Masonic Lodge in Antreville, SC, where he held membership for more than 60 years.
He was known for his exceptional work ethic, genuineness, humility, strength, and his steadfast faith. His quiet, yet sincere, witness had a significant impact on all those around him. He had a deep love and commitment to his Lord, his family, and his friends, especially his Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Campbell, a brother-in-law, Bo Hayes and his mother and father-in-law, Donald and Edith Murdock.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Campbell Mann (William); two very special grandchildren, Billy Mann and Emalee Mann; two sisters-in-law, Betty S. Campbell and Ann M. Hayes; a brother-in-law, Rev. Donnie Murdock (Sandra); a nephew, Chuck Campbell (Leika); aunt, Eleanor C. Chapman (Jerald); several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as his wonderful neighbors and cousins Beauford and Dot Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Bells Chapel, 2540 Flat Rock Rd., Abbeville, SC. Funeral Services will begin at 3:30PM on Thursday, with Rev. Terry Greer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites
The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Mann.
