Virgina Jones McCoy

Virginia Jones McCoy, 92, of Belton, SC, peacefully departed to her heavenly home on January 5, 2026, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Floyd Oliver McCoy and was born in Anderson County to the late James Frank and Pammie Ann Kesler Jones.

Mrs. McCoy was the oldest living member of Chiquola Baptist Church and enjoyed a fulfilling career at Torrington before her retirement. Fondly known as "Grandma," she was a vibrant presence in the lives of all who knew her. Her life was characterized by love, compassion, and steadfast faith, which have left an enduring legacy of warmth and kindness within her community.

Throughout her life, Virginia dedicated herself to her family, finding joy in cooking and caring for them. She was cherished for her generous spirit and selfless heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Sherri Reece; two brothers, Charles and Larry Jones; two sisters, Iona Whitt and Eugenia Brock; and a great-grandson, Brody Steven Gambrell.

Mrs. McCoy is survived by her daughter, Pam McCoy of Belton; three grandchildren, Paul Campbell (Alicia) of Belton, Jennifer McCoy Bailey, and Brittany McCoy Gambrell, both of Honea Path; three great-grandchildren, Cody Bailey, Eli Bailey, and Bailey Gambrell, all of Honea Path; three brothers, Dennis Jones, Ed Jones (Joan), and Harold Jones (Helen), all of Honea Path; a sister, Doris Hughes (Bobby) of Honea Path; and numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Virginia Jones McCoy's unwavering love and compassion will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Chiquola Baptist Church, 405 E. Greer St. Honea Path, SC. Funeral services will begin on Thursday at Chiquola at 2:30PM with the Rev. Mark Thomas and Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories, 151 Garden of Memories Road, Belton, SC 29627.

The family is at the home of her granddaughter, Brittany Gambrell in Honea Path.
