Sgt. Terry Verdell Rudder, SC Army National Guard, Retired, 54, husband of Priscilla Belton Rudder, of Calhoun Falls, departed this life Wednesday, May 30, 2018. He was born in Elberton, GA to Luther V. Rudder, Jr. and Elaine Olgiati Rudder.
A 1983 graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, Terry retired from the SC Army National Guard. He was employed by WestPoint Stevens for many years; he was presently an associate with Sage Automotive. Terry was a member of the Calhoun Falls American Legion Post #72 and a loyal supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Rudder; maternal grandparents, Gladys and Ottie Olgiati and paternal grandparents, Frances C. and L.V. Rudder, Sr.
Terry leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories: his wife, Priscilla, of the home; parents of Calhoun Falls; five daughters, Tierra Rudder (Gary Dubose), Traci Rudder, both of Elberton, GA, Daphine Bentley (James), Celena Jackson, both of Abbeville and Ulrika Lomax (William) of Killeen, TX; a brother, Casey Rudder (Sarah), of Calhoun Falls; a sister, Jerri McDonald (Steve), of Antreville; nine grandchildren, Jayden, Nakiya, Jaida, McKenzie, DaMarque, DaNajah, Shamad, DaMichael and Ciara; four great-grandchildren; four brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law and his beloved companion, Bear. He is also survived by a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends from 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel, 526 E. Savannah Street. Graveside services with full military honors will be 11:00AM, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
