Sadie Page Johnson

Sadie Page Johnson, 77, of Abbeville, died Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. She was born in Abbeville to the late Benjamin L. and Evelyn Bratcher Page. Sadie served her life taking care of others.

A proud graduate of the 1967 class of Abbeville High School, Sadie furthered her education at the Anderson Hospital Nursing School. She devoted over 41 years to her nursing career at AnMed Hospital. After her time at AnMed, she continued to provide care through 180 Home Health Care sitting with many different patients over the years. Patients would always ask for Sadie because of her sweet nature and bedside manner.

She had a great love for her family, cherishing the moments spent with them, especially with her sisters, treasuring the bonds that enriched her life. Sadie will be missed by her family and many friends. In addition to her dedication to nursing and family, she was also an avid reader, finding peace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Sadie was a member of South Side Baptist Church in Abbeville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael O’Shannon Hanks; sister, Fay Wildes; brother, Johnny Page; brother-in-law, Bobby Stamps; and Don Hanks, the father of her sons.

Sadie is survived by her best friend, Melvin Sizemore; four sons, Brian Hanks (Cassey) of Abbeville, Chris Hanks, Josh Hanks (Caitlyn) and Jason Hanks; two sisters, Mary Page Stamps and Kathy Page Scott (Dennis); brother, Frank Page (Betty); sister-in-law, Rita Page; brother-in-law, Robert H. Wildes; twenty grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends 2:30PM – 3:30PM, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at South Side Baptist Church, 505 W. Greenwood Street, Abbeville, SC. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM in the church sanctuary with Rev. Dr. Joel Bradberry and Rev. Frank Page officiating.

Memorial contributions, in memory of Sadie, may be sent to South Side Baptist Church, 505 W. Greenwood Street, Abbeville, SC 29620.

The family is at the home of her sister, Mary Stamps.
