Ruth Campbell White

Ruth Campbell White, 90, resident of Abbeville Nursing Home widow of Oscar White passed away Sunday Jan. 6, 2013 at the nursing home.

Born in Abbeville, SC she was a daughter of the late Hilary Atticus Campbell and Martha Dixon Campbell.

Ruth was a retired seamstress with the Abbeville Shirtmakers Plant. Upon retirement see was an active volunteer with the Abbeville County Library. She was also a member of Westside Baptist Church. Ruth will be remembered for her loving and kind demeanor.

Survivors include her daughter Frieda Bell of Abbeville, SC; 2 grandsons Christopher Bell of Abbeville, SC and Spurgeon Bell of Newberry, SC; and a granddaughter-in-law Danielle Bell.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday Jan. 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the home 1256 Cedar Springs Rd. Abbeville, SC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home prior to services.
