Ruby Holmes Bowie

Ruby Holmes Bowie, 94, formerly of 212 Marshall Ave. died Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at the home of her grandson, Tommy Winn in Murrells Inlet.

Born in Abbeville County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Leila Ashworth Holmes. She was a homemaker and retired from Milliken Textiles. She was a member of the Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are sisters, Lorena Corley of Greenwood and Helen Compton of Iva; brother, Junior Holmes of Newbern, N.C.; and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary H. Winn.

Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Ray Massey; burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The body is at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home in Abbeville.

The family will be at the home of Leila Campbell, 510 Marshall Ave., where the family will receive friends Thursday afternoon.
