Roy 'Jack' Smith

Jack Smith, 92, of Donalds, husband of the late Doris Bratcher Smith, died Monday, April 10, 2023 at his home. He was born in Donalds to the late Roy B. and Gertrude Smith.

Mr. Smith, employed with Bigelow/Mohawk for 35 years, was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. Mr. Smith loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and Due West Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby R. Smith and two brothers-in-law, Jack Tumblin and Ronnie Erwin.

Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Roy ‘Sonny’ Smith; daughter, Greta Smith Moore (Terry) all of Donalds; two sisters, Gloria Tumblin and Donna Erwin, both of Abbeville; sister-in-law, Judy Owen Smith; five grandchildren, Rowdy Smith, Kyle Smith, Colton Smith, Rebecca Moore and Daniel Moore; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM - 2:30PM, Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Graveside services will begin immediately following the visitation in Due West Baptist Church Cemetery.
