Bob 'Pepa' Dansby

Bob "Pepa" Dansby, 63, of Abbeville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 27, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born in Abbeville to Betty Thompson Dansby and the late Paul B. "Buddy" Dansby, Jr., Bob was a lifelong resident of the community he loved.

A graduate of Abbeville High School, class of 1981, Bob dedicated his career to the S.C. Department of Education as the Supervisor for the Abbeville County School Bus Shop where he formed lasting friendships throughout the state. He found joy in fishing, hunting, crafting his own lures, and cheering for the Carolina Gamecocks. His greatest passion, however, was his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.

Bob is survived by devoted wife, Sherrie of 39 years, of the home; three children, Dale Dansby (Amanda), Matthew Dansby (Carleigh), and Cameron Dansby (Michelle); his loving mother, Betty Dansby; his brother and sister, William P. "Bill" Dansby and Bonnie Dansby Poore (Billy); eight beloved grandchildren: Mackenzie (Jay), Rylee, Addyson, River, Rhett, Rowan, Hayden, and Hampton, all of Abbeville, SC and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Tucker, will follow on Monday at 11:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
