Gina (Nisly) Swartzentruber, 55, of Abbeville, SC, peacefully joined her Savior on Sunday evening, August 16, 2026, surrounded by her family. Gina courageously faced a challenging 14-year battle with cancer, always maintaining a cheerful and uncomplaining spirit that blessed everyone around her. She was a devoted wife, pouring her love into her marriage and the children with whom she was blessed. Her family adored her, and her passion for them was evident, especially in her role as a grandmother to three cherished grandchildren who were her pride and joy. They loved their "Grandma Days" and were treated like royalty.
Gifted in cooking, Gina’s meals delighted many. She had a compassionate heart and reached out to those who were lonely or hurting by baking treats, visiting, or sending messages. She dedicated numerous hours to grading Bible study courses for prison inmates and kept a comprehensive prayer list, praying frequently for her family and others in need.
One of her favorite songs was “Goodness of God,” reflecting her faith in His goodness, even during her difficult journey. Gina often reminded us, “Every day is a gift,” and we treasure every moment shared with her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Nisly.
Gina leaves behind her loving husband, Glen Swartzentruber, and their four children. Tyler (Larissa), Shannon, Rachel (Darius) Hochstetler, and Shari; three grandchildren, Brooklyn, Bentley, and Bryson Swartzentruber; her mother, Edna Nisly; her siblings, Ken (Gloria), Wayne (Leona), Delores (Kevin) Kauffman, Carolyn all of Abbeville, SC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 18, 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 6:00PM-8:00PM at Cold Spring Mennonite Church. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00AM.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Gina, may be sent to Fairplay Camp School, 347 Wilderness Trail, Westminster, SC 29693.
