Peggy Pettigrew

Peggy Burton Pettigrew, 76, of Calhoun Falls, wife of Robert ‘Bob’ Pettigrew, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025. She was born in Calhoun Falls, on June 20, 1949 to the late Johnny Doffis Burton and Margaret Elizabeth Smith Burton

Peggy graduated from Calhoun Falls High School in 1967. As a familiar and welcoming face, she was employed with the Calhoun Falls Post Office for 35 years. Peggy was also a well-known and well-loved member of Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and often played the piano during services. Most of all, Peggy cherished spending quality time with her family and enjoying the beautiful sunsets at her residence in Mount Carmel, Pettigrew Family Farms.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Padgett and her brother, Jerry Burton.

Peggy is survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 57 years, Bob Pettigrew, along with daughter, Christy (Brian) Kirk of Simpsonville, son, Robert (Hayes) Pettigrew III of Charlotte, and her four grandchildren, Sydney Kirk, Laurel Kirk, Kathleen Kirk, and Henry Pettigrew. She is also survived by her siblings, Jonnie Ward, Mike Burton, Debra Davenport, and Kathy Burton.

The family will receive friends 2:00PM – 3:00PM, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Calhoun Falls United Methodist Church. A celebration of Peggy’s life will begin at 3:00PM in the church sanctuary.
