Patterson Thomas "Pat" Cox

Patterson T. ‘Pat’ Cox, 92, of Abbeville, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living in Greenwood. A native of Abbeville County, he was the son of the late James T. ‘Jim’ Cox and Effie Mae Smith Cox.

Pat served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After furthering his education, he lived in Richmond, VA and Atlanta, GA. Pat was employed by the Caron International Yarn Company often traveling the Southeastern and Southwestern United States; in 1988, he retired from the company and returned to Abbeville.

Pat will be remembered by his wide circle of friends, many of whom he referred to as family.

A service to celebrate Pat’s life will be 2:00PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Draffin officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
