Patricia 'Pat' D. Mccurry

Patricia Davis ‘Pat’ McCurry, 76, of Abbeville, wife of Jack McCurry, Jr., entered her eternal home, Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Hospice House & Palliative Care of Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville to the late Adrian W. and Safronia ‘Fronia’ Ellenburg Davis.

A 1963 graduate of Abbeville High School, Mrs. McCurry was employed with the former Milliken & Co - Abbeville Plant for many years. Pat’s longest and most rewarding role in life was rearing her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed animals and lovingly cared for them at every opportunity. Mrs. McCurry was a long-time member of South Side Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. Presently and for many years, Pat capably served as the church hostess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth ‘Lib’ Cantrell; two brothers, Gene A. Davis, and Leon ‘Shine’ Davis.

Mrs. McCurry is survived by her husband, Jack, of 57 years of the home; four children; Jeff McCurry (Tracy) of Greenwood, Kimberly M. Morton (Karl) of Abbeville, Ginger M. Miller (Chris) of Hodges, and Justin McCurry (Katie) of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Kayla Morton (Erik), Kelsie Patrice Morton (Jordy), Ward Andrew McCurry, Cade McCurry, Connor Miller, Reece Miller and Evangeline Ruth McCurry; and her beloved puppies, Precious, Howie and DJ.

The family will receive friends from 12:00PM to 1:30PM Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Zack Little and Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
