Patricia Ann "Getsinger" Bowman
April 26, 1960 — April 17, 2019
Patricia Ann Getsinger Bowman, 58, wife of Johnny Bowman, of Abbeville, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at her home. She was born in Abbeville to the late Neuffer and Lois Willoughby Getsinger.
Mrs. Bowman was reared in Calhoun Falls where she attended Calhoun Falls schools. The beach was her happy place; Daytona Beach was her favorite. Time spent camping filled many relaxing vacation days. She was also content with quiet pursuits, playing cards and crocheting handmade gifts, which she shared with her family. Mrs. Bowman and her husband were constant enthusiasts of Abbeville High School football. They attended and cheered for the Panthers on a regular basis, seldom missing a game. Family was the essence of her everyday life; she loved them dearly.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Getsinger and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Johnny, of the home; daughters, Rebecca Bowman Monroe (Zach) of Elberton, GA, Amanda Bowman (Blake Wagler) of Greenwood, Katherine Bowman of Anderson and Emily Nicole Bowman, currently stationed in Japan; a step-daughter, Jaime Risner (Jack), of Abbeville; a brother, David Getsinger, of Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren, Toby, Alexis, Jacob, Nikki, Kaleigh, Dana, Analeigh, Sydney, Cody, Jordan, Elijah, Jamal, Leeanna, and Joey; and four great-grandchildren, Brayleann, Izabella, Branson and Karter.
The family will receive friends 2:00PM – 3:00PM, Monday, April 22, 2019 at Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:30PM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Scotty Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
