Nancy Elizabeth Tollison

Nancy E. Tollison, 77, of Abbeville, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 1, 2026. Born in Abbeville to the late Dillard L. Madden and Mary Frances Sutherland Ferguson, Nancy was a lifelong resident of the area.

She attended Abbeville High School and dedicated nearly two decades to Milliken & Company – Sharon Plant before retiring. Nancy was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church and also attended Westside Baptist Church when possible. She cherished spending time with her family, enjoyed cruises, attending festivals and being outdoors. Nancy’s family and community will remember her for her devotion, warmth, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Glenn ‘Cuz’ Ferguson, and her sisters Barbara Ann Brown and Sara Arnold.

She is survived by her children, Darlene Gilmer and Mike Ashley; her grandchildren, Britney Davis, Vance Ashley, Aiden James Ashley, and Alivia Ashley; her great-grandchildren, Rylan, Reagan, and Rayz; her brother, Reverend George James Long (Betty); her sister, Carolyn Ferguson Crook; her brother-in-law, Reverend Boyd Arnold; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 2:00PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services begin at 2:00PM on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
