Molcy Lee McCier, 80, of Abbeville, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Sunday, May 25, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Georgia. She was born in McCormick, SC to the late Napolian and Molcy Patterson McCier.
Molcy, a devoted member of her community and church, served in various positions at Glovers Chapel Baptist Church and was a cherished member of the Women’s Homemade Society # 86. Her commitment to community service shone brightly through her involvement with the local food bank and as a lifetime member of the Bethia Volunteer Fire Department, where she was the former Secretary and Chaplain. Molcy had a passion for baking, collecting tea pots and tending her garden, particularly delighting in her cherished Angel Wing Begonias. She lived a life filled with service, dedication and love for her family and community.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Henrietta Williams, Mallie Jackson and Addie Moss; and a brother, Willie Napolian McCier.
Molcy leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Joyce (Fredrick M.) Rice of Lilburn, GA; two sisters, Frances Williams and Elizabeth Lomax; brother, George (Mary) McCier all of Abbeville; two grandchildren, Darian J. (Nicole) Rice and Jordan R. Rice; and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Molcy’s life will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, 302 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC with Rev. Charles Boyce officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Molcy, may be sent to Glovers Chapel Baptist Church, 123 Glovers Chapel Road, Troy, SC 29848.
