Minnie Kornegay Byrd

Minnie Kornegay Byrd, 82, resident of 200 Wardlaw St. Apt.#1 widow of Jeff T. Byrd, Jr. died Tuesday Aug. 28, 2007 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.

Born in New Caney, Texas she was a daughter of the late Henry Grady and Ollie Finkles Kornegay.

Min attended TCU University and was a retired secretary having worked many years for Savitz Drug Co. and The Press & Banner. She was also a member of Abbeville First Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 sons, Henry Kornegay Byrd (Hank) and his wife Debbie of Pickens, SC and Jefferson Terrell Byrd III (Jeff) and his wife Linda of Pickens, SC; 4 grandchildren, Sunny E. Byrd, Charley J. Byrd, Joshua Bryant Byrd and Jefferson Daniel Byrd.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Aug. 31, 2007 at 2:00 PM in The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reiny Koschel officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM Friday afternoon prior to services.
