Michael E. Floyd

Michael E. Floyd, 66, of McCormick, husband of Linda McComb Floyd, died Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Self Regional Healthcare after an extended battle with cancer. He was born in Columbia, SC to the late Bobby G. and Elizabeth Price Floyd.

Michael was a 1975 graduate of Gilbert High School. He worked many years as am Electrical Instrumentalist and spent 20 years as a truck driver. Michael was a member of the Willington Presbyterian Church, the McCormick Forestry Association and served on the McCormick Farm Bureau Board. He was a wildlife enthusiast, he enjoyed dove hunting, fishing and being a good steward of the land.

Surviving Michael is his wife, Linda of 34 years of the home; a daughter, Toyanna McElhenny (Erik) of Lexington, SC; two sons, Tyler Austin Floyd of Lexington, SC and Travis Wylie Floyd (Chantal) of Abbeville, SC; a brother, Clifton Leon Floyd (Lucia) of Duncan, SC; a sister, Teresa Marie Frier (Ed) of Elgin, SC and two granddaughters, MaKayla Grace Frye and Kimber Rose Floyd.

A reception to celebrate the life of Michael will be 3:30PM Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his home, 219 Hwy 28N Abbeville, SC. Private graveside services will be held Sunday in the Floyd Family Cemetery with Pastor Mike Dorn officiating.
