Mary Hipsher (Powell)

Mary Powell Hipsher, 84, of Abbeville, wife of Robert ‘Bob’ Hipsher, died Monday, March 1, 2021 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. She was born in Cuthbert, GA to the late William and Louise McClinton Powell.

Mrs. Hipsher retired from IBM after 15 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hipsher was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Powell.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Bob; her children, Scott Colston (Rebecca S.) of Good, VA, Mark Colston (Jeannie) of Stanley, NC, Bob Hipsher, II and Kathy Best (Jim), of Apex, NC; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

The family will receive friends 10:00AM – 11:00AM, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brian Arant officiating. A private burial will be held in MJ ‘Dolly’ Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
