Mark H. Wargula

Mark H. Wargula, 66, of Abbeville, husband of Ashley Cameron Wargula, died Monday, May 18, 2026 in Greenwood, SC. Born on August 10th 1959 in Buffalo, New York, Mark was the son of the late Henry Francis Wargula, Jr. and Mary Ann Kurczewski Wargula.

A graduate of Clarkston High School in Georgia, Mark furthered his education at Dekalb County Community College. He worked with Mom’s Meals, where he cherished the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with his clients. Mark enjoyed grilling, spending time with family, fishing at the beach, caring for animals, gardening, and was an avid sports enthusiast, especially of the Georgia Bulldogs. His dedication to gardening earned him the current Yard of the Month award in Abbeville. Mark was known as a private man with a generous heart and vibrant personality. A man of faith, he worshipped at Main Street Methodist Church Abbeville when able.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bill Cameron, and two nephews, Travis and Michael Whittle.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ashley; children he affectionately called his “bonus sons”, Davis Whiten (Kayla), Carter Whiten (Abbey), and Zack Moss (Taylor); grandchildren Anna Grace, Will, Chase, Presley, Hunner, and Little Bishop; his brother Sam Burst; sister Cindy Whittle (Steve); niece Katie (Byron) Nichelson and her tribe; godmother Joan Zelasko (Walter); aunt Sandra Lammerhirt (Robert); uncle Robert Wargula (Mary Ann); cousins Peter, Lisa, Frank, Chris, Mark, and Tori; as well as his mother-in-law Judy Cameron and family.

In accordance with Mark’s wishes, no public services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Mark, may be sent to the Christmas Angel Tree Fund, PO Box 656, Abbeville, SC 29620.
