Mark Murdock

Mark B. Murdock, 63, of Belton, husband of Debbie Callaham Murdock, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born in Anderson, South Carolina to Kenneth Boyce Murdock and the late Norine Branyon Murdock.

Mark was a distinguished 1978 graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School. He devoted many years of his life working at Goodman Conveyor in Belton and later served as a supervisor with SMF in Anderson. Mark had an unwavering zest for life and cherished spending time outdoors indulging in activities such as fishing, hunting, and most importantly, creating valuable memories with his loved ones.

For over two decades, Mark generously dedicated himself to serving in the children's ministry at Unity Baptist Church. His commitment extended beyond that role as he actively participated in various capacities such as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Asaville Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, Mark was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Lisa Vassar.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debbie Murdock; two daughters: Kimberly M. Fant (Dylan) and Lindsey M. Belcher (Daniel); his father, Kenneth Boyce Murdock; a sister, Patti M. Rowe; a cherished granddaughter, Madelynn Fant all residing in Belton, SC; father-in-law Wayne Wardlaw (Barbara) of Norris, SC; and a brother-in-law Tommy Wardlaw (Bly) from Tennessee.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023 at Asaville Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow on Tuesday at 2:30 PM in the church with Rev. Dwayne Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 2603 Due West Hwy, Belton, SC
