Marie June Miner

Marie June Miner, 83, of Iva, SC, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Prisma Health Greenville. She was the beloved wife of John W. Miner, to whom she was married for 63 years.

Born in the village of Mt. Upton, New York, at Upton Castle, Mrs. Miner was the daughter of the late Leon B. and Lawanda Welch Hurlburt. She was a 1961 graduate of Gilbertsville High School. Mrs. Miner dedicated 30 years of her career to Amphenol Corporation in New York.

Following her retirement, she and her husband divided their time between their homes in South Carolina and Gilbertsville, New York. Mrs. Miner took great pleasure in gardening, birdwatching, baking, and caring for her flowers. She was an active member and worshipped at First Baptist Church in Mt. Upton, NY, as well as First Creek Baptist Church in Iva, SC.

Marie June Miner’s life was marked by devotion to her family, faith, and community. She will be remembered with affection and respect by all who knew her.

Mrs. Miner was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Scott Miner; two sisters, Louise Lowe and Mary Wildenstein; and four brothers-in-law, Donald Miner, Carlton Miner, Gene Miner, and William “Bill” Miner; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Miner, Donna Miner and Evelyn Rothdiener.

She is survived by her husband John; three children, Lisa Augustine (Mike), Raymond Miner (Susan), and John Miner II (Kimm); seven grandchildren, Corinne Weldon (Mark), Ray Jay Miner, Marisa Augustine, Joseph Augustine (Madelyn), Colin Miner, Hannah Miner, and Katie Miner; and three great-grandchildren, Johnny Lopez, Arlo, and Indy Augustine. Mrs. Miner is also survived by her siblings Richard Hurlburt (Vera), Ruth Wright (Larry), Shirley Mostyn (Tom), Susan Andrade, and Leon Hurlburt Jr. (Debbie); as well as three sisters-in-law, Cindy Miner, Joan Wildenstein, and Diana Wheeler.

The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at First Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM Saturday, May 30, 2026 in the First Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Dalton and Rev. Donnie Murdock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
