Mabel Ware Baggett

Mabel Ware Baggett, 92, of Due West, wife of the late Frank L. Baggett, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Hospice House in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Due West to the late Charlie B. Ware and Ruby Caroline Price Ware.

Mrs. Baggett was a 1947 graduate of Erskine College and member of the Due West ARP Church. She was a devoted educator for 33 years in the Berkeley County School System.

In addition to her parents and husband of 63 years, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Bryon Veach and Zeke Boyd and two brothers, Charlie Ware, Jr. and Allen Ware.

Mrs. Baggett is survived by her three daughters, Debby Padgett of Charleston, SC, Caroline Boyd and her husband Wade of Winston Salem, NC and Lynn Veach and her husband Tom of Due West, SC; two brothers, Lowry Ware of Wesley Commons, Greenwood, SC and Gene Ware of Due West, SC; three grandchildren, Shannon Ferrer, Ethan Padgett and Amy Boyd Meza; three great-grandchildren, Olivia Meza, Dylan Ferrer, and Nicholas Meza.

A Service to Celebrate Mrs. Baggett’s Life will be 2:00PM, Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Due West ARP Church with Rev. Calvin Draffin officiating. A private family burial will be held prior to the services in the Due West ARP church cemetery.

Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Baggett, may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
