Leon E. ‘Lee’ Sautter, 91, of Greenwood, SC, husband of Beverly RoJohn Sautter, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at his home. He was born in Zieglerville, PA to the late Russell K. and Myrtle Keiser Sauter.

Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army. He devoted his professional career as a telecommunications technician. Lee began his career at Western Union where he brought expertise and reliability for 28 years followed by 12 years at World Com. He was respected not only for his technical skills but also for his unwavering work ethic. Lee relished the joy of sports, especially tennis and pickle ball, embracing the camaraderie, and friendly competition these games provided. He was a member of the Lutheran Church by the Lake. Those who knew Lee best will remember him as a truly good husband and father, a man whose genuine warmth and steadfast character left a lasting impression on all fortunate enough to share in his life. His legacy endures in the values he upheld and the positive influence he had on those around him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Sautter.

Lee is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home; his children, James Sautter (Beth) of Warwick, RI, Edward Sautter of Syracuse, NY, Layne Pech (Penny) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Bryce Pech of Denver, CO; sister, Mary Ann S. Rauch of Perkiomenville, PA; four grandchildren, Jasmine Schell, Jade Schell, Allison Sautter and Phillip Sautter; and one great-grandson, Ethan Schell.

A service to celebrate Lee’s life will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Asbury Hall, Wesley Commons, 1110 Marshall Road, Greenwood, SC 29646 with Pastor David Turner officiating.
