It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leo J. Denault, 84, of Ninety Six, SC on January 5, 2023 following a long illness of dementia and cancer.

Born November 11,1938 in New Bedford, MA to the late Edith and Leo V. Denault, Leo married Virginia (Ginger) Menard in 1962 and together they moved to Poughkeepsie, NY where Leo went on to work in finance at IBM for 30 years.

Leo had a successful basketball career in high school and at Stonehill College where he was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1992. He continued to share his love for the game by officiating high school for 15 years. He took his passion for basketball to the golf course where he enjoyed playing many rounds while in Poughkeepsie and wherever he and Ginger travelled.

Leo is survived by his wife, Ginger of 60 years, his daughters Cheryl (husband Neil), Michelle (husband Jon), and Suzanne. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on January 20, 2023 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Greenwood, SC.
