Larry Bell

Larry Hugh Bell, 76, of Calhoun Falls, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. He was born in Clinton on June 7, 1949, to the late Henry Spurgeon Bell and Kate Seigler Bell.

A proud graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, Class of 1968, Larry honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He retired after 32 years of service at the Rocky River Plant in Calhoun Falls, followed by 15 years as a Security Guard at Prysmian Cable in Abbeville. Larry had a variety of interests that brought him joy. He was an enthusiastic fan of western shows, especially the classic series Gunsmoke. Larry also found peace and happiness in nature; often going on hiking adventures. He cherished the simple pleasure of going out for breakfast, enjoying the meal and the moments spent with family and friends. Larry was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls.

He is survived by his two sons, Larry Spurgeon Bell of Newberry and Christopher Bell of Abbeville; and brother, David Bell of Calhoun Falls.

A service to celebrate Larry's life, with military honors, will be 11:00AM Saturday, February 7, 2027, in the Harris Funeral Home, Calhoun Falls Chapel, 528 E. Savannah St. Calhoun Falls, SC. 

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, in memory of Larry, be sent to Northside Baptist Church, 205 Marion Street, Calhoun Falls, SC 29628.
