Archie Keith Cleveland, 69, of Abbeville, died Friday, August 1, 2025, at his home. Born February 2, 1956, in Abbeville, SC to the late Archie L. and Mabel Moore Cleveland, he was reared in Jackson, SC.

A 1974 graduate of Jackson High School, Keith attained a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in management from Limestone College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a part of the Military Police. His service inspired a lifelong passion for teamwork that he carried throughout his life. For eight years, Keith served as a police officer with the Abbeville City Police Department, where he was dedicated to protecting and serving his community.

With a deep love for family, Keith was known to cherish every moment spent with his loved ones. A man of many passions, Keith had a special enjoyment for fishing, finding peace by the water. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Abbeville High School Panthers, proudly supporting his team through local games. In addition, Keith was an avid fan of the USC Gamecocks, who wore his colors proudly, cheering his team through thick and thin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Pat Cleveland.

Keith is survived by his two daughters, Taylor Cleveland (Dillon Brantly) and Amy Hudgins, all of Abbeville; brother, Larry Cleveland (Diane) of Aiken; two sisters, Susan Newman (Keith) of Grovetown, GA and Nancy Travers of Delaware; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 10:00AM – 11:00AM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:30PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Scott Allen and Rev. Mike Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Bells Chapel Methodist church cemetery with military honors.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Dr. Keith Scott, Dr. Wang, Dr. Hodges, Dr. Oxendine, Kayla Beaty and Jason Beaty for their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, in memory of Keith, to be sent to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8516.
