Julieanne ‘Julie’ McCord Williams, 66, of Abbeville, SC, wife of James E. ‘Jimmy’ Williams, died Sunday, October 17, 2021 at her home. She was born in Abbeville, SC to the late H. Miller McCord and Eleanor Blair Knox McCord.
Julie, a graduate of Abbeville High School, was employed in the Development Department with the former Milliken & Co – Abbeville Plant. Later, she joined the Abbeville County School District as an administrative assistant retiring after 28 years of service. Julie enjoyed gardening and animals. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren who were the lights of her life. Julie was a member of the Abbeville/Mt. Carmel ARP Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jimmy, of the home; her son, James ‘Jamie’ Williams (Kate) of Decatur, GA; three brothers, Bobby McCord (Abby), Jimmy McCord (Janice), all of Abbeville, SC and Terry McCord (Phyllis) of Young Harris, GA; and two grandchildren, Matthew Miller Williams and Mason Edward Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests, memorial contributions, in memory of Julie, may be sent to the Greater Abbeville Humane Society, Attn: Barbara Freese, 200 Greenville Street, Abbeville, SC 29620.
