Juanita 'Peaches' Suttles Williams

Juanita Suttles ‘Peaches’ Williams, 93, of the Lake Secession Community, died Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Abbeville Area Medical Center. Mrs. Williams was born in Antreville to the late James L. and Lillie McKee Suttles.

She devoted many years of dedicated service to Flexible Technologies before her retirement. Mrs. Williams was a founding member of the Lake Secession Community Association, as well as a member of Midway Baptist Church. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Eros Alvin ‘Doc’ Williams, and sister, Colleen McMahan.

She is survived by two sons, James ‘Butch’ Williams (Judy) of Iva and William ‘Bill’ Williams (Janet) of Abbeville; a sister, Betty S. Campbell, of Lake Secession; three grandchildren, Dawn W. Moore (David), Mark Williams (Ginny), and Brian Williams; six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Will, Draven, Emma, Liam, and Kate; and Connie Sanders, who loved Mrs. Williams dearly and called her ‘Granny’ – she spent many hours laughing, singing, providing meals and catering to her every whim.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Abbeville Health Care, Debra Crook Knowlton, and Kim Shaw for offering their attentive care during the last few years of Mrs. Williams' life when family members were not able to do so.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 14 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Terry Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
