Juanita Johnson

Juanita Johnson, 91, of Iva, wife of the late George Albert Johnson, died Sunday, February 22, 2026, at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood. She was born in Iva to the late Elmer and Mary Ruth Bruce Dickerson.

Juanita attended school in Iva. After a fulfilling career, she retired from Mohawk Industries in Calhoun Falls in 1995. Later, at the age of 82, Juanita retired from Hamrick’s in Anderson, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and hard work that inspired those who knew her. She enjoyed playing the piano and additionally, had an enthusiastic interest in decorating. Juanita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, T.C. Dickerson, William ‘Billy’ Dickerson and Jerry Dickerson; and a sister, Connie Lewis.

Juanita is survived by her son, Lindy Johnson (Beverly) of Abbeville; daughter, Melody Nichols of Iva; sister-in-law, Kaye Dickerson of Anderson; five grandchildren, J. C. Johnson (Bambi), Ken Nichols, Michael Brooks (Shonna), Chris Brooks (Jessica) and Shannon Zinck (Brian); and thirteen great-grandchildren, Colt Johnson, Tucker Addison, Kalysta Addison, Autumn Addison, Grant Brooks, Chloe Brooks, Thomas Brooks, Lexi Brooks, Nolan Brooks, Tanner Brooks, Katelyn Voyles (Bryson Pless), Brady Voyles and Jacob Zinck; and one great-great grandchild, Micah Voyles.

The family will receive friends 12:30PM – 1:30PM, Friday, February 27, 2026, at Harris Funeral Home, 302 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620. Funeral services will begin at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Thomas Guinn officiating. Burial will follow in Iva City Cemetery.
