Joyce S. Poole

Joyce S. Poole, 92, of Abbeville, wife of the late Horace Roy Poole, died Thursday, October 3, 2024, at The Renaissance in Due West. She was born in Abbeville County to the late Russell and Ethel Campbell Southerland.

Mrs. Poole dedicated many years of her life to sewing, working at the former Calvin Klein company in Abbeville. A long-time resident of Lake Secession, she built a life rich in laughter and heartfelt love for her family and friends. Mrs. Poole enjoyed flower gardening, her favorite flower being the red rose. She also cherished moments spent dancing, fishing and listening to country music, activities that brought her much happiness. Mrs. Poole was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church. 

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. 

Mrs. Poole is survived by her brother-in-law, Carey W. Poole and his wife, Eve, of Abbeville and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be 2:00PM, Monday, October 7, 2024, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Alewine and Rev. James Long officiating.
