Johnny C. Page, 64, of Abbeville, husband of Rita Smithey Page, died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home. He was born in Abbeville to the late Benjamin L. and Evelyn Bratcher Page.
A 1979 graduate of Abbeville High School, Johnny was the owner and operator of Page’s Locksmith and Page’s Shoe Shop for more than 40 years. He briefly worked with Dill’s Locksmith in Greenwood. Johnny demonstrated his passion for public service through his various roles in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for 15 years, as a member of the Abbeville County Dive Team for many years and as a Deputy Coroner for Abbeville County for 10 years. He was a member of the South Carolina Locksmith Association and South Side Baptist Church.
Johnny was well-known for his reliability and problem-solving skills – whether it was rescuing someone who had accidentally locked their keys in their car or crafting new keys for those in need. He cherished his family and maintained a wide circle of friends. Johnny’s legacy will be remembered by all whose lives he touched, both in his professional and personal relationships.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Fay Wildes; brother, Ronnie Clyde Page and brother-in-law, Bobby Stamps.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 15 years, Rita; children, Pastor Bennie (Emily) Page of Lufkin, TX, P.J. (Dawn) Page, Maggie Page and Emma Page all of Abbeville; brother, Frank (Betty) Page of Greenwood; three sisters, Mary Stamps, Sadie Johnson and Kathy (Dennis) Scott, all of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Colton, Adalee, Case, Molly Anna, Evelyn, Anderson, Colby and Savannah; three great-grandchildren, Ruby, Ryder and Lyla; and numerous extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends, 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Those serving as pallbearers are Ed Guy, Colby White, John Frank Wilson, Andy Bagwell, Walt Wilson and Billy Norris.
