John A. Latham

John A. Latham, 88, husband of the late Louise Latham, of Abbeville, SC died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Agape Hospice House in Columbia. He was born in Iva to the late James and Emma Pearl Long Latham.

Mr. Latham honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was an employee of Milliken & Co. and Prince Motor Company, later retiring from Ace Hardware. Fishing was a favorite pastime and many happy hours were spent on the water. Mr. Latham had a caring heart which was evident by his service to others. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Latham was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Latham.

He is survived by a son, Phil Latham (Susan), of Chapin; a daughter, Dianne Fossett (Lyman), of Greenville; and three grandchildren, Matthew Fossett, Ashley Boone (Broderick) and Brent Latham (Julianna).

The family will receive friends 10:00AM – 11:00AM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in Long Cane Cemetery.
