John E. Cox

February 3, 1957 — November 9, 2020

John Cox, 63, of Abbeville, husband of Marsha Lawton Cox, died Monday, November 9, 2020 at Prisma Health – Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born in Abbeville to the late Alvie W. and Aileen Patterson Cox.

A graduate of Abbeville High School, John retired from McCollough Logging. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his membership in the National Wild Turkey Federation. Time spent with his family was most important to him.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother Harold W. Cox and a sister, Patricia A. Cox.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marsha, of the home; his children, Joshua M. Cox, Carmen L. Arant, Kristy C. Davidson, and Heather C. King; grandchildren, Alexis T. Noblin, Sara K. Arant, Joseph I. Arant, Emma G. Davidson, and Olivia King; his father-in-law, Morris W. Lawton; and a sister-in-law, Eugenia C. Lawton.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be 2:00PM, Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the Harris Funeral Home chapel.

The family is at the home of Carmen Arant.
