JoAnn Russell Bledsoe

JoAnn Russell Beldsoe, 80, of Troy, SC, wife of the late Lamar Derrick Bledsoe, Jr., died Saturday, April 25, 2026 at her home. Mrs. Bledsoe was born in McCormick, SC to the late Sydney J. Russell, Sr., and Mary Leila Edwards Russell.

A 1963 graduate of Greenwood High School, she was a devoted member of the Methodist faith. Throughout her life, JoAnn and her husband were involved with Open Door Christian Ministries in Clinton, where they shared their love for Jesus and served the local community. She worshipped at Troy Presbyterian Church and found great joy in gardening, caring for animals, baking, canning, and appreciating nature, including her fondness for the beach and lighthouses. Known for her timeless grace, JoAnn always took pride in her appearance. She cherished time spent with her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and ‘JoJo’.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sydney J. ‘Rut’ Russell, Jr.

Mrs. Bledsoe is survived by her daughter, Lynn B. Young and her husband Troy of Troy, SC; two grandsons, Sydney Young and Devin Young, who lovingly called her ‘JoJo’ and her special cat, Jessa.

Graveside services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in the Troy City Cemetery with Rev. John Paul Marr officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
