Jill L. Kanapeckas

Jill Lynn Kanapeckas, 66, of Due West, beloved wife of Timothy Kanapeckas and mother of Kimberly Lynn Kanapeckas Métris, went to be with her Lord and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Fred A. ‘Fritz’ Roseen and Gayle Joan Miesen Roseen.

Jill was a graduate of Plantation High School and Broward Community College, where she earned her nursing diploma. She devoted more than 20 years of her life to nursing, serving in hospitals, retirement communities, and schools. She touched countless lives through her work with Abbeville County Schools, including Cherokee Trail Elementary and Dixie High School. Her compassion and dedication also extended to the Due West Retirement Center and Abbeville Nursing Home, where she provided comfort and care to patients and their families and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to their wellbeing. Jill found immense joy in her calling as a nurse, rooted in her love of helping and healing.

Beyond her career, Jill was an excellent fisherwoman, devoted homemaker, and wonderful cook who took great joy in caring for her community. She cherished her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was a member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church.

Jill will be lovingly remembered for her radiant smile, compassionate heart, unwavering dedication to her loved ones and profession, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey. Her legacy of selfless love and service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Roseen.

Jill is survived by her husband of 44 years and the love of her life, Timothy; her cherished daughter, Kimberly Métris (and her favorite son-in-law Jérémy) of Clemson; and two brothers, Ken and Jeffrey Roseen, both of Florida.
