Jerry Dwayne Little, 78, of Hartwell, GA, formerly of Abbeville, SC passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born on May 13, 1947, in Royston, GA, Dwayne was the son of the late Francis Little and Zelma Mae Moon Little. A proud graduate of Abbeville High School, Class of 1965, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Lander University in 1969. He honorably served his country in the SC National Guard.
Dwayne, affectionately known as ‘Elvis’, retired from the CSX Railroad as a conductor after 33 years of dedicated service. A member of Sharon Methodist Church in Abbeville, SC, he regularly worshipped at Flat Shoals Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA. Dwayne was known as the ‘fun uncle’ and was cherished by family and friends alike for his loyalty and warmth. He had a deep faith and a genuine love for his family and many friends. He especially loved returning to Abbeville to support and watch the Abbeville High School Baseball team. Dwayne also enjoyed motorcycle riding in his leisure time. His life was marked by dedication, faith, and the love he shared with those around him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Shirley and Frankie Little; a step-daughter, Monica Brown; and a nephew, John Marion Little.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Shelby Jean Daniel Little, of the home; his son, Daniel Little (Sarah) of Abbeville, SC and daughter, Ivy Steepy (Mike) of Pendleton, SC; seven cherished grandchildren, Jessica Steepy Crayne (John), Caitlin Steepy, Zane Little, Addy Mae Little, Maggie Beth Little, Kinzley Robinson and Brayden Scott; and siblings, Barbara Burden (Mike), Larry Little (Marilyn) and Dennis Little.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Sharon Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Frank McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Dwayne, may be sent to Abbeville High School, Attn: AHS Baseball Team, 701 Washington Street, Abbeville, SC 29620.
