Jeanette Burton Ware

Jeanette Burton Ware, 95, of Abbeville County, beloved wife of the late Cecil ‘Pete’ Ware, died on Friday, June 12, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 12, 1930, in Iva to the late Howard Burton and Sudie Prince Burton.

Mrs. Ware dedicated several years as a production associate in the mill prior to raising her family. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored all of her family, as well as her church family. Jeanette was the oldest member of Little Mountain Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School class and the Circle 2 Women’s Group.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Coleman Burdette, Everette, Lynwood, Truman, and Harlan Burton; and her son-in-law, Danny Hamrick.

Mrs. Ware is survived by her children, Diane Hamrick and Bryan C. Ware (Bambi); her brother, Howard Sherman Burton; five grandchildren, Sylvia, Amber (George), Jennifer (Nate), Burt (Claire), and Felicia (Bryan); ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family wishes to thank Sabrina Gaffney, devoted caretaker and Whitney Squire, Hospice Nurse.

The family will receive friends at 2:30PM-3:30PM, Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the Little Mountain Presbyterian Church Social Hall. Funeral services will begin at 4:00PM, Sunday, in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
