James "JM" Marvin Strickland

James 'J. M.' Marvin Strickland, 73, resident of 1033 Kay Rd. passed away Monday Feb. 6, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC.

Born in Abbeville, SC he was a son of Margaret McMellon Timms and the late W. A. Timms, Sr.

J. M. was a former employee with the Abbeville Shirt Plant and was also of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his mother Margaret McMellon Timms of Petra Nursing Center; 5 brothers, Rickey Timms of Iva, SC, Mickey Timms of Mt. Pleasant, SC, W. A. Timms, Jr. of Abbeville, SC, Carroll Timms of Woodruff, SC and Emanuel Timms of Greenwood, SC; 1 sister, Adair Upton of Greenwood, SC.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Clamp and a brother, Ervin Timms.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday Feb. 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday afternoon prior to services at the funeral home.
