James Franklin Goff

James F. Goff, 87, of Waterloo, SC, died Sunday, May 25, 2025, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born in Greenwood County, SC to the late Otis Hugh Goff and Sallie Roberts Goff.

A 1955 graduate of McCormick High School, Mr. Goff honored his country by serving in the South Carolina National Guard. He dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career at Greenwood Mills – Matthews Plant, retiring as a supervisor in the card room. Mr. Goff enjoyed hunting fishing and thrifting, often sharing these interests with his loved ones. He was a devoted fan of the Carolina Gamecocks and he treasured spending time with his family. Mr. Goff was loved and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him and was an active member of Shade Tree Revival Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Otis H. Goff, Jr. and two sisters, Cora G. Gable and Diane G. Bohler.

Mr. Goff is survived by his two sisters, Pearl G. McMahan (John) of Abbeville, SC and Fannie B. Clary of Lincolnton, GA; sister-in-law, Sallie Goff of Lebo, Kansas brother-in-law, Robert Lee Gable of McCormick, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Donna Garber.

The family will receive friends 1:00PM – 2:00PM, Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home, 302 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Troy Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Troy, SC 29848.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, in memory of Mr. Goff, be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
