Jahn Newman Carroll

Jahn Newman Carroll, 51, of 206 Hunter St. died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at Anderson Area Medical Center.

Born in Jacksonville, Fla., she was an employee with Wal-Mart Inc. in Greenwood and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are widower, Jerry Carroll Jr. of the home; daughters, Sunshine Ellis of Calhoun Falls, Amy Griffin of Ware Shoals and Sarah Carroll of Abbeville; parents, John Dean "Sonny" and Alice Jean Williams Newman of Atlantic Beach, Fla.; sisters, Ginger Newman of Eugene, Ore., and Sandy Taylor of Neptune, Fla.; brother, Dean Newman of Tallahassee, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ray Massey; burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where the family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Carroll Sr., 103 Dundas Road, Abbeville.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Conway Shirley, P.O. Box 566, Due West, S.C. 29639-0566.
