Harold L. Prince, Jr.

Harold L. Prince, Jr., 92, of Abbeville, husband of the late Marion Camak Prince, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare.

Born in Greenville, South Carolina, Harold was the son of the late Harold L. Prince, Sr., and Mildred Sheppard Prince.

A 1951 graduate of Abbeville High School, he fondly recalled his time playing football for the Panthers. Following high school, he attended the University of South Carolina before joining his father’s Ford dealership in 1952.

In 1986, Harold became the owner of Prince Motor Company, a position he held with dedication until 2026. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his accomplishments and received numerous Ford awards and trips.

Harold was a longstanding and respected member of Main Street Methodist Church, known as its oldest male church member. His community involvement included membership in the Abbeville Cotillion Club, Abbeville Jaycees, and he was a Master Mason. He was also a devoted Hejaz Shriner, notably organizing the Shriners Fishing Tournament from 1975 to 2000.

An avid outdoorsman, Harold enjoyed fishing and drag racing. He and his wife Marion shared a love for lake life, progressing from camping in tents to enjoying their dream lake house on Lake Greenwood. He cherished time spent there with family, attending Race Weeks in Daytona each February, serving as an honorary member of Camporama, and supporting the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, particularly their football and women’s basketball teams.

Harold L. Prince, Jr.’s legacy reflects a life of commitment to family, faith, community, and a passion for Ford automobiles and outdoor pursuits.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Mitchell Prince; two daughters, Dana White and Patti Howie; two sons-in-law, Joe L. White, Jr. and Drew Mundy; brother-in-law, James ‘Pitts’ Camak, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Glenda Galphine Chandler.

Harold is survived by his son, Harold L. ‘Hal’ Prince, III; two daughters, Kim Mundy and Milly Stovall (Paul); a son-in-law, Tom Howie all of Abbeville; ten grandchildren, Tige Howie (Jackie), Sarah Lynne Howie (Lamar Williams), Andrew Mundy (Allison), Matthew Mundy (Casey), Marilawren Phillips (Al), Anna Brown (Ron), Jo Beth Lee (Matt), Ilissa Skinner (Aaron), Baileigh Stovall (Josh Hall) and Ryan Stovall; twenty great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, David A.
