Georgia S. Scott

Georgia Satcher Scott, 102, of Abbeville, wife of the late William Henry ‘Bud’ Scott, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025, at her home. She was born in Greenwood County to the late Rev. George T. Satcher and Marie Rushton Adams Satcher.

Mrs. Scott was a longtime, faithful member of the Abbeville Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was so proud of playing the piano for services until the age of 93. She took one piano lesson and the teacher told her father not to waste his money; she had the talent of playing by ear. Mrs. Scott cherished her family and the playfulness of her kittens which brought her much pleasure.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Scott Ouzts and her husband, Donnie; two sisters, Sally Myrtle Davis and Willie Bryant; brother, Joe Satcher; and grandson, Kevin Ouzts.

Mrs. Scott is survived by her son, George Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Scott and his wife, Saralee; three grandchildren, Chris Ouzts and his wife, Nancy, Bill Scott and his wife Kristin, and LeAnn Corcoran and her husband, Dan; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend and caretaker, Cynthia M. Thomas.

The family will receive friends 10:00AM – 11:00AM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 11:30AM on Saturday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Ray Massey and Rev. Russ Tollison officiating.
