Frank A. ‘Skip’ Tortorello, 82, of the Savannah Lakes Community, husband of Patricia Batto Tortorello, died Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at his home. He was born in Newark, NJ to the late Anthony and Nellie Decker Tortorello.
‘Skip’, as he was affectionately known, graduated from Hillside High School, Class of 1960. A proud veteran of the United States Marines, he served his country with honor. Following his military career, Skip embarked on a successful career with Merck Pharmaceuticals, where he retired after 32 years of dedicated service.
An avid golfer, he was often found on the green enjoying the sport he loved and adored watching the Tour de France bicycling race. Skip cherished time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.
He was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in McCormick, SC and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus which reflected his dedication to community service and fellowship.
In addition to his parents, Skip was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Hazen.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia of the home; three sons, Anthony Tortorello and Nicholas Tortorello of Pennsylvania and John Tortorello of McCormick, SC; and a granddaughter, Olivia Tortorello.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM, Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Father Jacob Joseph officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Good Shepherd Columbarium with military honors. The family will receive friends following the inurnment in the Parish Life Center.
