Frances "Smith" Culbreth

Frances Smith Culbreth, 93, of Abbeville, wife of the late Richard Culbreth, died Monday, December 23, 2019 at her residence.  She was born June 26, 1926 in Greenwood to the late James Jones Smith and Annie Butler Smith.

Mrs. Culbreth was a charter member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Culbreth Jones; three sisters, one brother; and a special family friend, Ed Howard.  Mrs. Culbreth was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by her two sons, Rick Culbreth and Frank Culbreth (Leesa) all of Abbeville; a grand-daughter, Kerri Jones Lew (Ken); three great-grandchildren, Makenna, Jace and Ella; and two sisters-in-law, Gladys C. Ferguson and Dolores G. Smith.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM, Thursday, December 26, 2019 in New Hope Presbyterian Church with Rev. James Norris and Mr. Pat Hodge officiating.  Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Culbreth, are sent to New Hope Presbyterian Church, 136 Highway 71, Abbeville, SC 29620.
