Eva Nell ‘Doodie’ Davis, 83, of Hodges, wife of Johnny Davis, died Sunday, May 10, 2020, at her home. She was born in Cartersville, GA to the late William and Lois Bennett Woods.
Mrs. Davis was employed with Standard Textiles for ten years and also with Plaxco’s Drug Store in Due West. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Honea Path.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Harriette L. Simmons; a brother Bobby Woods; a sister, Louise Huskins and a nephew, Michael Huskins.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Johnny; three children, Kirk Cagle, John Cagle and Cathy Shedd; three brothers, Billy Woods, Johnny Woods and Marshall Woods all of Cartersville, GA; a sister, Mary Bell Johnson of Kingston, GA; five grandchildren, Stacy Gambrell, Jeramie Cagle, Daniel Bramlett, Brandon Shedd and Bradley Shedd.
A Celebration of Mrs. Davis’s life will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in the Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Due West Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
