Esther Mast Overholt

Esther Mast Overholt, 95, of Honea Path, SC, wife of the late Paul Overholt, died Thursday, May 22, 2025 at her home. She was born in Elkhart, IN to the late Joseph A. and Ida E. Christner Mast.

Mom cherished her time with her family and was ‘Granny’ to more than just her grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and interior decorator. She loved traveling, cooking and baking pies, which was her specialty.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Olen Mast and two sisters, Ruby Miller and Ida Mae Graber.

Mrs. Overholt is survived by her four children, Kenny Overholt (Sharon) Abbeville, SC and their children, Shawn, Anthony and Melody; Sheryl Hershberger (Edward) of Hartwell, GA and their children, Ryan, Carlos, Sherra and Warren; Dallas Overholt (Judith) of Delta, CO and their children, Sonya, Tina, Lori and Stacy; Shelby Schwartz (David) of Honea Path, SC and their children, Holly, Brooke, Juli, Davey, Denver and Dean; fifty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Ellen Overholt, Viola Overholt and Elsie Overholt; five brothers, Joseph, Walter, Jerome, Paul and Ernest Mast; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Cold Springs Mennonite Church, 226 Cold Springs Church Road, Abbeville, SC 29620. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, May 26, 2025, at Cold Springs Mennonite Church.
