Emma Gordon Turman, 91, of Greenwood, formerly of Abbeville, wife of the late Robert ‘Bobby’ Lewis Turman, died Friday, January 16, 2026, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood. She was born in Abbeville County to the late Hayne and Alpha Hill Gordon.
A proud graduate of Antreville High School, class of 1952, Mrs. Turman poured her heart into her family and home, creating a life filled with love and kindness. She found joy in her flowers and nurturing her vegetable gardens. Mrs. Turman is a member of Abbeville Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard K. Dewey and her sister-in-law, Carolyn B. Gordon.
Mrs. Turman is survived by her daughter, Debra Dewey of Greenwood; her brother, Sonny Gordon of Abbeville; three nephews, Robert Gordon, II (Cathi), Clyde Gordon (Jennifer) and Reed Gordon (Jennette) all of Abbeville; and several special great-nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Gordon Tubbs officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Turman, may be sent to Abbeville Presbyterian Church, 301 N. Main Street, Abbeville, SC 29620.
